Repertoire of the Competition
1st Round 20 minutes
Candidates may choose their programme freely but must include:
- One Prelude and Fugue by J. S. Bach
- One Etude by F. Chopin
* All pieces must be performed by memory
2nd Round 45 minutes
Candidates may choose their programme freely but must include:
- The first movement from a Sonata by M. Clementi, F. Schubert, J.Haydn, W.A. Mozart or L.v. Beethoven.
- Three pieces from Images from the Great Siege by Alexey Shor
* All pieces must be performed by memory
Final Round 45 minutes
Candidates may choose their programme freely but must include:
- One Composition by F. Chopin, F. Liszt, J. Brahms, R. Schumann, F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy, C. Frank, A. Scriabin or S. Rachmaninoff – which cannot be an Etude.
- One Composition composed in the past 100 years (1920-2020)
* All pieces must be performed by memory
Compositions performed in one Round cannot be repeated in any of the other Rounds.
All programmes must be performed from memory and no transcriptions are allowed.
